Covenant signed

The Network Colorful Almere was officially established with the signing of the covenant by two aldermen and four representatives of the partners.

Zorggroep Almere, De Schoor, VMCA, municipality of Almere and Elaa signed a covenant on April 7 to commit to more appropriate care, welfare and support for elderly people with a migrant background. This happened during the online city conference Colorful Almere, where parties, elderly people with a migration background and other stakeholders, led by Mo Hersi, discussed what is needed for colorful care.

The online conference was opened by Mayor Franc Weerwind. Jerzy Soetekouw (VMCA), Bas Bonhof (Zorggroep Almere), AnneMarie Geneugelijk (De Schoor) and Fimke Wiersma (Elaa) signed the covenant with the aim of doing more for appropriate care, welfare and support for elderly people with a migrant background. Alderman for parent policy Roelie Bosch and alderman for Inclusion and Living with Care Froukje de Jonge also embrace the objective and signed on behalf of the municipality.

During the conference, films were shown of, among others, the Afghan-Dutch psychologist Marjam Elom who works with elderly people with a migrant background and Mavis Nelom, an elderly resident of Almere with a Surinamese-Dutch background. They both also participated in the conference.
